Every morning, from the hall in South Miami, Sri Swami Jyotirmayananda takes up the Ramayana and talks his way through it — story by story, as commentary rather than lecture. It goes out live at 8:25. There is no fee, no account to make, and nothing you need to know beforehand.

Twenty-five past eight, every morning.
The satsang runs daily and it runs about an hour. Swamiji holds the morning open for it, and it takes a great deal to displace it.
It is a live class rather than a broadcast slot, so it begins when he is ready to begin — usually on the hour given here, occasionally a few minutes after. Come at 8:25 and wait a moment if the screen is still dark.
Nobody is watching to see whether you stayed. People come and go through the hour, and most listen without saying anything at all.

The Ramayana is long and the commentary moves through it in order. If you would like the next morning's passage — which episode, and the turn in it Swamiji is likely to open — we will send it, and nothing else.

What actually happens for the hour.
Swamiji sits and talks. He takes an episode of the Ramayana and turns it over — what the figures in it stand for, what the turn in the story asks of the person listening. It is unhurried and it assumes nothing.
The regulars are a small group, and they have been coming for years. Nobody will greet you or ask who you are unless you speak first.
If the morning hour is impossible where you are, the commentary is not the only door — the evening premiere and the recorded archive keep other hours.
- You do not need an account. Open the channel and the stream plays. Making one only lets you write in the chat, which most people never do.
- Come at 8:25 and give it a minute. If it has already started, arriving mid-sentence costs nothing — the commentary is not a lecture with a thesis to miss.
- Listen, and leave when you need to. There is no attendance and no expectation. Sitting for ten minutes is a real attendance.
- Ask afterwards if something opened up. Write to info@yogaresearchfoundation.org — a person reads it.
